2014 Altrider Conserve The Ride (PA)

Anyone doing this from here. I'll be at our camp that weekend and may swing by if there is something there for people not registered for the entire campout.

As of now, I'm planning on going. This will be my first time attending so I'm not quite sure what to expect.

Anyone from the Pittsburgh/Erie area planning on going? I'd be happy to link up with others for the ride there and back (avoiding I-80 at all costs lol).

I'll be there, first time, but have heard good things and use plenty of AltRider products. Anybody coming from CT who wants to meet up for the ride west?

I signed up and will be working my way down on the back roads from Toronto, Canada on the Thursday for the class Friday and riding Saturday.

It's the weekend after the BMW Horseshoe GS Challenge and training up here so should make for some fun riding and lots of new skills to practice.

I had been thinking of going.

I had emailed about suitable tires a couple of weeks ago, and from the reply, it sounded like the OEM Scorpion Trails weren't going to cut it. I didn't think I was going to be able to swap tires before the event, but I just made an appt. to get some new claws on my Tiger next week. Decided on the Karoo 3's (70/30), but now I'm watching the 2012 video and wondering if they're going to be enough...

Anyway, I should know for sure by the end of the week. If it works out I'll be leaving from the Meadowlands NJ Friday morning.

Those tires should be good for Conserve the Ride, you should definitely come out to the event! There are three different routes, with different levels of riding difficulty for each. A lot of that video was from the more difficult trails. There are definitely challenging route options, but the easy route is mostly fire roads and similar terrain. If anyone has any questions about the event, feel free to email me at mitch.p@altrider.com.

I sent an email Wed. night with a question, but haven't received a reply back.

Despite that, I was about to sign up and noticed that the Fri class was still an option on the dropdown, though in the description there's still a note that it's full. Have any spots for the class become available?

Edit - I'm in! Really looking forward to it. Now.... where did I leave my tent....

I saw that the itinerary and updated FAQ were posted on the AltRider site. Have the GPX files been sent out yet? The Itinerary PDF says they're attached, but I don't see them in the PDF or on the AltRider site.

There will be an email going out in the morning to everyone who has signed up. It'll have a download link for the GPX files, along with a few other final details.

Is there anything there for someone who is not registered. I'm going to my camp on Thursday and was thinking about riding down to check this on either Friday or Saturday if I have time to get away.

Thanks!

Murdock,

There aren't really any activities planned at the camp besides the ride. Also we're unfortunately pretty much at capacity for the campground. You should definitely come out and ride with us next year!

The quarter liter brigade (TM) is headed out from Pittsburgh to meet my brother at the event. My wife and brother and I did it last year - it was a blast.

A couple other riders from out here are also going - but they are trailering and we're riding our mini-DS bikes out.

The Chicken KILLAH! (Kristen) returns to Conserve for 2014!
