Rusty

Ruby (crappy cell phone pic)

Zack

Alexa

They are all rescues. Unfortunately we lost both Ruby and Rusty to Cancer earlier this year, and yes, it does suck, really loud! Leaves a very empty place in our lives, but we still have the other two, which is a good thing.

We raised four dogs for Guiding Eyes.

The first one came back after five month of training.

He was too distracted by bananas to guide the blind.

my sisters dog, but still a very good friend. Tough watching
her get old, though. She's going to leave a large hole in
the entire familys heart.

I lost my best friend, Bo, on New Years Day this year. He had terminal cancer, and I knew it was coming eventually, but it still came up on us fast. I held him while they gave him the shot that would put an end to his pain. The following day it was -10F with the wind chill and my wife and I used picks and shovels to dig a final resting place for him. Here he was in happier times...

A friend's boxers had an unexpected litter last November, and when he heard that Bo was sick he demanded that I take one of the females. At first I was resistant, but later relented. I'm glad I did, because another great friendship has started...
