Did this last weekend from Golden. Very Nice! 60F on top! Aspens changing. This si an old gold mill on the east side going up.

Man, I'm envious of those who can ride the various pass' of CO as a day ride. (Not to be a nit-picker, but gold is mined, as opposed to oats, which are milled).

That is a picture of the North London Mill.

Gold is mined to get it out of the mountain. Then it is milled to concentrate the ore. Then it is smelted to release the desired metal.

BTW I used to work in that mountain chasing that yellow metal.

Yes, but once out of the ground the ore is run through a mill or concentrator of some type. That looks like an old stamp mill to me.

They actually ran some flotation for gold recovery in that mill. Old wooden stave type tanks. Had prints of it when I worked at the London. A lot of great mining history on that hill and great scenery as well.
