Howes Trail File?
Hi
I downloaded a few, uploaded one. The Howes trail to St Albans opens OK in Garmin topo but doesn't seem to show any thing on google earth. The others i have tried are good in google earth. Other than that all seems good so far. ![]() Michael

So those that upload would be willing to agree to such a licence? ...... I'd encourage people to upload their relatively raw GPS tracks into the OSM database. With a minimal amount of work, not necessarily by the person who recorded them, the data can easily be made available for Garmin users. This can be viewed as complementary instead of competitive.

Hi
I downloaded the Howes trail to St Albans as a KML file and it only shows straight lines in google earth, not following the road. Couldn't open it at all in mapsource. Michael

The file I downloaded (Alice to....) opened up in Mapsource and looks the goods. The upload file (Kilcoy to Woodenbong) seemed to work ok too.

Looks like I will have to keep an eye on this to see how much data is transferred when all the tracks are displayed. I'm hoping that Google caches most of them so it won't come direct from my machine. Cheers Peter |

Minor update...
The GPX files now download correctly rather than displaying in the browser. Cheers Peter |

Can't get a scroll bar on the tracks list - too many now to to see on the screen. Scroll bar on the window though.
Mac PPC/Safari Mac Intel/Google Chrome as well. (Don't use Firefox) viz |

Ok, I've had to revise the layout so all the tracks could display in the track list. That has meant ditching the accordion collapso/expando thing. It clashed with the tooltips and map.
But it looks like we have passed the limit where Google will display that many tracks on the map. I'm assuming nobody else is seeing tracks on the map when the page first loads. When you do a search and restrict the number of tracks, they do display. Cheers Peter |

I concur
Also when I do a search for Qld tracks the Qld Bicentennial trail does not come up?

Had a look @ the website, not bad, still working out how to pilot it!
map information is not accurate in some sections, ground I've walked on! How do we operate the 'feedback' section? wouldn't play ball for me, then computers are smart, it's probably seen me coming & said 'not again!' Cheers Baza
