Bit harsh
I hope someone thinks of me when I'm gone a little kinder
I can not believe if it was you , your family would have the same attitude.

I don't think anyone here enjoys being reminded of how dangerous riding can be. I've got to agree in some ways. Why post it here unless it's someone we know? Even then, do you really want to hear about someone you know being killed as just a link to a Newspaper story?

How many times have you seen this scenario. Car turns right across the path of a motorcyclist, 'Sorry mate didn't see ya'. Tool late for sorry when your in the ambulance or the coroners wagon. Coppers come along and say, motorcyle rider appears to have been speeding. Twice this has happened to me, luckily no injurys, just managed to clip the left rear and bust their tailights, coppers tried to do me for 'riding without due care and attention' both times until I informed them of the idiot was turning across my path.

I agree I don't think anyone 'enjoys' it, but maybe it's a good thing that we get reminded of our mortality every so often, even if it is a bit uncomfortable.

I don't know... probably some young bloke with a job, a loan for his bike and is on his way home to his family when some dope turns in front of him. So it happens thousands of times per year around the world? That'll help his family deal with the loss...

You weren't lured to the thread with the promise of cleavage, it was pretty obvious from the thread title as to what it was going to be about. Maybe next time you could remember not to open ANY threads that may contain the words "rider", "killed" or "death".

Oh, and have you ridden a pushy on the road lately? That's go to be far more dangerous...

I have to agree with mezo to a degree I didn't know him I'm not really interested. , nobody posted Ali getting cleaned up riding his bike to the local markets in south west pakistan, there are people killed all over the world you don't hear about it. Just because he rode a motorcycle doesn't mean we need a group hug, shit there's people who ride that I can't stand and vica-versa
Yes it's bad for his family and friends but me

Last thought on this one.

Last thought on this one last two stanzas are relevant.

THOSE SMILIN' ANGELS

written by Rod Hatter
9/24/2009

Rumblin' down under
in wide open spaces.
Rollin' the highway,
with wind in our faces.
There's nothing that matches
the way that it feels,
when we're in control
of our two wheels.

We've been through some bad times,
and times that were great !
We've ridin' bad weather,
and stayed out too late.
We've calloused our palm,
with throttle in hand,
out riding the back roads
all over this land.

We're awful proud,
of those we call friend.
They ride right beside us,
through thick, til the end.
They share with us life,
and share with us beers.
Share with us laughter,
and share with us tears.

Along down this highway,
we've lost us a few.
Some that were strangers.
Some that we knew.
With no rhyme or reason,
or so it would seem,
but it was life's calling.
It's what their fate deemed.

Now, through our memories,
they ride with us still.
Our Guardian Angels,
who know how we feel.
They must be out riding,
in much better places.
Our visions of them.
show smiles on their faces.
