Maryborough Motorcyclist Club, Club Day Round 2, Tomorrow Sunday 25/9

Come and see old blokes ride old bikes, kids on little bikes and young blokes on Motard beasts.

Drop over and say g'day.

Go the old blokes.

Probably ride up for a bit of a look if the rain holds off.

Top day at Action Park. Terrific friendly laid back atmosphere, a track that is an absolute credit to the club and some excellent racing in all classes.

A few pics from in the pits......

......and on the track

That's inmate dirtbloke on the blue XL500(?) towards right of pic. Unfortunately he had a bit of a spill from a cornering tussle in this race.
Hope the ankle comes good quickly for you DB. See you in Nov. at the Wide Bay Titles.

Great to catch up with you Dave.

(Geez that was a crap start!)

Bugger about the get off. Going to have an x-ray this morning. The ankle is rather sore at the moment, I only have 2 days for it to come right before flying back to work! Couple of mouthfuls of cement to HTFU.

Things should be fine for the Wide Bay Titles on the 28th November.

I hope your ankle gets better soon. I wanted to get out and say G'day but I had other commitments.

BTW Do you know how Brian is doing after his nasty accident off his sidecar on the last practice day when I saw you last? Is he still in a coma? I used to ride with Brian years ago, real nice bloke.

Don't worry half the field wear flanno's too

I am pretty sure that provided you pay the entry fee (IIRC $10 or $20) you can run-what-ya-brung on the practice days. I ran my old Dominator round there many years back. Had a ball until I was rounded up by a kid on a KX60 on the outside of turn 1 (fastest on the track). Later found out that it was a young Chris Vermuellin so I don't feel quite as bad now.

G'day Mick & Craig,

That's Mick on the XT, he rides really well, the bike is a classic wolf in sheeps clothing! I ran second to him most races in round one. Craig, you would have been quite welcome to borrow my bike for a practise day this Sunday (3rd Oct), but I've bent a rear shock.

This X-ray showed two fractures in my lower left Fib'. I eventually go out of the Hervey Bay hospital at 9:30 pm last night in a half lower cast and on crutches. Phoned up the boss this morning, not on the plane this swing. That means no money. The Doctor reckons I'll be laid up for 6 weeks, I'll cut the cast off in 3 weeks, strap in some steel splints into the work boots, and make the plane next swing.

The club calender can be found here: http://www.sportingpulse.com/assoc_p...0-0&sID=145411

Anyway, I get to enjoy being with the kids for the rest of the school holidays, sleeping in, and having the missus take the piss at every opportunity!

I'll post some pictures later...

Motorcycle racing, some days are diamonds, some days you crash in the second corner of the first race and brake your leg.

Caution: Images of ugly feet!

X-ray: Don't need to be a doctor to pick this.

Daughters impression of x-ray:

I suppose there is always the odd ride report to read...

BTW Mick, Brian is coming along ok, he's been out of the coma for some weeks, lucid and fiesty (apparently). He has no memory of the day, his body will take some time to heal. The club has been holding various fund raisers for his family. Other than that I'm a bit out of the loop due to working away.

Ooooh Ow, Dad was saying you had an off.

Looks pretty painful. But back to work? That'll be fun.

Bugger about the break and no work. At least you will be able to catch up on all the ride reports.

Thanks for the update about Brian. Glad he is out of the coma now.

Cheers
