Cheers Dash. There is about 5 hours of raw footage for this ride cut down to under ten minutes. I try to stick to my self imposed 10 minute rule, unless your rinding it, it gets old fast watching back the unedited stuff. There are whole 20 minutes bits that I do watch back for the memories but once again unless you did it it gets old fast .
Oh and the rest of the trip was slab zzzzzzzzzzzzzz........... Time Constraints

That was bloody brilliant ya lucky bloke, brought back some good '70s memories of being up that way
So, you pencilled in for 'Karauh' & 'Dargo' this year?
I'm probably heading to Capitol on Friday still.
Cheers

Thanks Baza, I'm a definite for the Capital hadn't really planned any others yet, except for the OCR (I just want to run around in the wind screaming OCR OCR OCR eight more months!!!). What are you're plans re route and leave time for the Capital?
Cheers
Dave

havafati screwed with this post 01-01-2012 at 04:02 PM Reason: to put the 'e' in route

Back through Nottingham Rd or viceversa

Well I finally made it to the Geoscience Australia shop.

The guy at the counter was very helpful and knowledgeable.

I said I was interested in the 1:50,000 and 1:100,000 topo maps of NSW.

They had a range but many of them were over 30 years out of date as far as roads/trails go so he suggested I talk to NSW lands dept and gave me their catalog which looks pretty good.

The trouble is you have to order from there shops in Bathurst or Sydney.

While I was at Geoscience I bought the latest HEMA Motorcycle Atlast though so it wasn't a wasted trip.

They have the complete set of 1:25000 topo maps too which are much more up to date but with 4cm on the map representing 1 klm of reality you'd need to carry a lot of maps for any decent trip.

Us old compass rider/users very rarely fail, used to teach in eight figure grid references - good for 10sqm accuracy, & if you're really good people I might teach you one day.
Cheers
