Took wifey through there on the BumW. the weekend of the Snowy ride last year I think. Want to go for a run again.

Just fitted Scorpion Rallys on the BumW. Didn't think of them as a real dirt tyre at all. Pleasantly surprised. might go do it again.

I think you and I stopped in there once. Some DSMRA rides I did stopped in there. Don't hear much of the DSMRA anymore. Gave up on the Canberra MCC.

I was over your way not long ago. Promised the wife a back roads trip to the coast, ended up in Cooma. Should have taken the GPS.

I'll put some dirt tyres on the other DR and give you a yell.

I'M THINKING THEY'LL DO ME FOR ALL MY 21" NEEDS. THE ONE ON THE DR CURRENTLY HAS 6,500 KMS ON IT AND WILL GO CLOSE ENOUGH TO 10,000 BEFORE I CHANGE IT

I think you and I stopped in there once. YEP Some DSMRA rides I did stopped in there. Don't hear much of the DSMRA anymore. Gave up on the Canberra MCC. DSMRA AGM RIDES AT KOWEN AND ELSEWHERE COMING UP https://www.dsmra.asn.au/index.php

I'll put some dirt tyres on the other DR and give you a yell. NO WORRIES

Against all odds, I think I’ve conquered TransAustraliaTrails ...

If you go to the URL below and search for “Captains Flat to Numeralla via Tallaganda and Cowra Creek” you should be able to find the route / GPX file for Wednesday’s ride with BergDonk and TinBum ...

http://transaustraliatrail.com.au/tracks/index

The TransAustraliaTrails site seems to have ignored route information within the GPX, and created its own route by joining waypoints by line of sight ... ends up a series of jagged lines that don’t lie exactly on the trails – if you download the GPX (and have reasonable Topo maps installed) Base Camp or whatever mapping software you use should be able to create a new route along said trails from the same set of waypoints ...

Well done, see it wasn't that hard was it;-)

Yes, it does process the original file to get the file down to a reasonable size so that multiple tracks can be displayed on the map at once. I'd be interested if someone could confirm that the GPX file is still usable, as it is still close to a MByte in size. Basicallly I had to choose the parameters at random, not having any real GPS devices to test it against, sort of flying blind, so it is a wonder it works at all;-)

Cheers
Peter

Damn good idea. I've got a job now, after a long sabbatical, so I can afford to lash out a bit.

And I need to drown my sorrows. Just got told that the R100 hasn't left the bloody US yet. Apparently because I chose to put it on a different container going to Sydney instead of Brisbane it has been held up due to proof of ownership issues with some of the other vehicles. Shit...

So, might have to re-register the Strom for a short time to get back on the dirt.

Cheers
Pete

Usable, but untidy... recalculating the sections fixes the routing but leaves odd bits spearing off into nowhere to where the waypoints are. Could be tidied up easy enough.
