Good news!

I won't be doing much this week, but next might be a goer ...

I took a big trail bike along the Corn Trail solo many years ago and the ride took half as long again as walking did! Negotiating all the greasy fallen logs required lots of rest stops.

And the "bridge" just before Turtle/Boundary joined River Forest Road was a load of laughs too: Just two logs across the creek and they weren't parallel. So it was hairy on a bike because you couldn't go slow or you'd wobble off the single log you'd chosen to cross on.

With a narrow wheelbase 4WD it was even worse because when you got half way across you found that the logs became too far apart for the vehicle to continue without falling between the logs. Backing off then was no fun.

Anyone doing 12 Mile should be sure to take the little switchback near the end to look at the view from George Boyd lookout over the escarpment and out to the coast. Pigeon House can be seen peaking over the range too.

I was with that group it was the end of a 1,600klm ride we started last Thursday. Bombala, Delegate, Omeo, Dargo, Tumut and then home. I moved to Canberra earlier this year and continue to ride with group that has regular rides.

Looked like a good way to spend a Sunday, how's Debbie @ the Tavern, have a yarn did ya??
I was out there taking Disability clients for a BBQ out at Trackhead Reserve, near the 'T' intersection where the tar starts when ya coming in from the west, either Nottingham Rd or Yass Rd,
Cheers

We didn't stop at The Tavern and it appeared to be closed when we went past, everyone was eager to get home as some had to ride back to the South Coast and the Blue Mountains. Fortunately now I'm living in Canberra I was back by 11.30am.
