Rifle Scabbard

I was looking for a rifle scabbard, something I might use on a motorcycle and came across these used for horses. They have straps for attaching to a saddle/horse. My rifle is much shorter (18" barrel or so) and these are too long so I contacted them and was told although they have no current plans to make a shorter "carbine" length scabbard they'd happily make one/cut one down for a customer on a special order basis at no additional charge. So I figured I'd pass this along. I haven't bought one, don't know when I will, but figured if someone wanted a quality scabbard, these folks appear to make a good one and are customer service friendly.

I've always thought it would be nice to be able to carry a lever action, ranch rifle or something like that but I've wondered whether it would be considered a concealed weapon. I never leave home without a pistol but it's easy to conceal in my tankbag. There are some good deals on ebay for scabbards.

Kolpin rifle scabbard

I made a mounting bracket that goes from the passenger foot peg mounting bolts to the turn signal mounting bolt and tapped holes to bolt on a Kolpin ATV rifle scabbard.

It's waterproof and lockable and rides on the bike out of the way. See the photo of my 500 mile ride into the central Oregon desert to chase jack rabbits.

Great scabbard setup, but where do you carry the annihilated rabbits?

I use a Kolpin, mounted pretty much the same way.

How'd the rabbit murdering go? PM me if you're going again next summer, I'll ride down and meet you. I'm usually in NE Oregon for varmints.

Wait, you mean your bike didn't come with one from the factory?

A friend of my cousin has a machine shop. They have a contract to build gun racks for the Ca Hg Patrol bike cops. Not sure how it works, or have not had a look at it yet. I would asssume it is not in a case, but it should be able to modify it for one

I have seen the Shotgun rack on a police bike and it goes across the back top of the bike and is not enclosed in a case. On the one that I saw.
