The Rat

We had a blast!!!

However... Rat did not take his left hand guard, Hella lights, and windshield off prior to the Adventure Ride... Gravity aided by the mountain side took care of all that... Not sure if the PA State Police should have issued a littering ticket to him for leaving some bike parts in the wilderness....

Lunch time

RawHyde's chefs provided some delicious meals. I was starving by the time we returned after our first few hours on the trails. Sorry I didn't take too many happy snaps in the dirt and mountain trails, it's just that we normally do that whenever someone (me) drops their (my) bike... and with the exception of Rat on the early morning Adventure ride, it didn't happen yet (for the record, I am notorious for dropping my ADV! I'm just saying...).

So far, everything was frigging badass!

Oops...

This was actually my fault...

Coleen was behind us playing follow the leader (as in stay in our tracks), and I took a wrong turn, and she followed the trail, so she ended up ahead of Rat and I. Once she hit the power lines, the terrain turned incredibly steep, sandy, and rocky... Yeah, it was fun!!!!

Rat is the real Hero!!!

Rat: "Buck, aren't you going to help me pick up this bike on this steep hill???"

Buck: from behind the camera, "Hells bells Rat, if I do that, who'll take the picture?"

Coleen: "Me, you doofus!"

Buck: "Quiet, Chocolate Cherry, it's hot out here in the sun!"

And Rat rides into the sunset...

...like all real heroes!!!
And now all is good in the world again, as Coleen is happy to see her GS on its two wheels again!

And that's my GS at the bottom of the hill... there was no way I was stopping on that steep slope!

New Trail

Coleen had enough of the sand and deep slopes, so we tucked into another "more gentle" trail in the woods...

Which quickly met us with a super vertical uphill run!

Oops (again)!!!

Throttle is your friend!!!

Never go too slow heading up a deep, heavily rutted incline!

Break time!

OMG.. and by the way, in 2012 that will stand for Obama Must Go, but I digress... On this day, it meant simply... Oh hell, I'm smoked...

After finally getting Coleen's bike to the top of the hill, it was break time. She asked how much further to camp. I said it's only an 1/8 of a mile, but with Rat leading, we all feared that it could have represented a 4 to 5 hour ride...
