"CAFÉ RACER" coming up on HD Theater

Discovery HD Theater is bringing back the series "Cafe Racer". Look for it Oct 13.

CAFÉ RACER
Becoming more prevalent on the racing scene, a café racer is both a type of motorcycle, as well as a type of motorcyclist, who appreciates speed and good handling over comfort. In CAFÉ RACER, a new motorcycle builder in every episode must design, engineer and create their very own dream on wheels from an older frame in the retro-style of classic café racers. Once completed, CAFÉ RACER gives the custom bike a complete shakedown and tests to see if it lives up to historical café racer standards.

Is it too much to hope that a giant Asteroid or Comet smashes into the Earth and extinguishes all life before this Airs?

Made a Cafe Racer out of an old KZ550... ONE OF THE MOST FUN MACHINES I've EVER OWNED!!!! This might be a decent program, if only for the images...

Except for the fact it wasn't aquired in HD and the production quality and such sucked. In fact, the only thing "Cafe Racer" had going for it was that it was about a realy cool subject. I feel it looked like a bunch of enthusiasts had a great idea of a great video project, and then the money men who ponyed up the cash stepped in and fucked the whole thing up by making them use sub standard equipment and hurry up and shoot it.

+ 20. Now a bunch of old bikes are going to become instant "cafes" with flat black, exhaust wrap, hacked off mufflers and fenders, and clubmans.

My question as well! Shoot, when was the last time her in olds cool did someone buy an old bike and say something OTHER than they were wanting to do an old cafe racer style as opposed to even a basic restoration.....even if they had all the original parts on the bike they just bought?

don't forget the checkboard and 59 stickers too! we were pitted across from those dudes out at mid-ohio and i gotta say that the build was pretty laughable. still can't believe that they thought spraybombing their parts mere feet away from actual racers bikes was acceptable and neighborly pit behavior. i would of had words with those clowns over that and the big burnout that they did in their garage space (garages are separated by chainlink fence), but again i was across the way.

tex
