Awesome photos Chris. This inspires me to stop and take more scenic pictures, instead of always going for the action shots. I really like the one with the swan.

Nope, and probably too much luggage for such shenanagans. Have to keep an eye out next time. I plan to head back there in summer this time

stunning photos
we are very lucky live amongst such beauty now if we could just find a way of stopping you northeners sneaking down when we're not watching and taking far better photos than we ever could... BTW if you had found the right track you can ride from the Pinnacles all the way to Sutherlands Hut via cnut hill - its an awesome ride with stunning views - there is one bit thats a tiny bit steep though....

![]() I did have a look for that entrance to Sutherlands hut, found the locked gate, but no easy way around it. Anyway I did not think it was really a track I wanted to do while solo, the day before we (Paul and myself) tried to get in to Sutherlands hut from the north side but the river was rather flooded due to the heavy rain, so I doubted if I would be able to make it in that way either. The run into Sutherlands hut in the heavy rain was pretty interesting, plenty of dirty deepish parts of the track, and other parts of the track were just like rivers. Made for fun with a old E07 and full luggage.

Wow! Amazing pics of great scenery! I once spent 3 weeks driving around the North Island in a rent a wreck Bluebird Nissan, I wanna come back, meet a nice NZ gal and move there, its an amazing country and your back country photography only makes me love it more.
Thanks much for the effort on the ride report,I barely saw the place on my trip.

Thanks.
Yeah it was a good trip, but the photos do not realy do the weather justice, it was pretty damn shitty for most of the trip, was silly of me trying to do this ride during March, I really should have tried to do it during summer ![]() But was a grea trip anyway, and would (and will) do it again.
