Eating in London

Just a thread to make note of some good food we had in London last week, in case anyone else needs some ideas - maybe others could add to it?

We ate twice at Balans on Kensington High Street - very, very nice food and great service.

Arch 1 outside exit 5 of Waterloo train station was also very good.

All Bar One on Byward Street near the Tower of London served some very nice food too, although the two wait staff started to struggle at 5.30 on a Friday evening

Da Mario's on Gloucester Road in Kensington did some very nice pizzas too

My Old Dutch pancake house on Kensington Church Street was OK, if nothing special

Zizzi's on Bow Street did some very nice pasta and service was very good.

Creme de la Crepe downstairs in Covent Garden did some wonderful crepes for a lunch.

Interesting thread idea.

I've been to the Balans branch in Soho quite a few times.
Whenever we're drinking in the Soho area and feel like a breakfast before heading home, that's the place to go to. I think they stay open until 6am!

I remember coming to the UK about 30 years ago and finding decent food was a search. About 20 years ago that all changed. I have found great food in London and not just fish & chips. These places you mentioned will be on my list next time I am in London.
