Given the amount of dirt/rocks a healthy 690 churns up, I can say with certainty that I wouldn't want to be last in that pack.

2013 690 r

Still bone stock and breaking the motor in. I live next to the Cleveland National Forest (CNF) in Orange County, California so that's where I'm riding mostly. Love the bike. Did a two day training deal at motoventures in Anza. Rode their WR250F and WR450F. Surprisingly, the 690 felt lighter on it's feet, changing directions quicker than the WR450F. Maybe that's the rear mounted gas tank?

Ordered a Wings slip on to get rid of the stock panini grill and 7 lbs. I plan on swapping the OEM plastic hand guards with some alloy reinforced ones. At my shop we'll custom build and LED headlight conversion similar to the Baja Designs 4 emitter conversion for the '09-11 690's. Some soft luggage, another fuel tank, DIY windscreen, GPS, the usual bits.

Large community of riders around here to link up with 7 days a week. Lots of rides at night in these mountains too.

Pic from 5600' Santiago Peak above Mission Viejo where I live.

Here she is!!!

I had to add this bike to the fleet. About a month old now and you can see I added a set of street wheels too. Don't get me wrong it will be used a lot in the woods, but couldn't resist the need to ride to and from work.

That's good thinking! It makes for an abundance of spare parts if needed.

Some very good pictures, if I you hadn't said it was Russia I would have thought it was the West coast of Scotland.

Thank you!
It's Kola Peninsula, Arctic Ocean coast, next to Norway.
The cross stands on the battlefield WW2.

Here they both - in a bad way fools burned bridge:
