Looking at all the dirt tires that fit 17" rims I was not impressed. I heard that the 990 guys were building street dirt set ups in 17" rear and 19" fronts. This opened up the dirt tire selection for me. So I contacted woody's wheel works and had him build me these.

Nice setup, Dirtstar.

What was your goal with this? To get closer to the functionality of a SM but keeping some offroad performance?

Did Woody build it to bolt up directly the same as the 21 F, 18 R?

Finally my new 690 is in. What a beauty! Only 2 things left to mount, the windshield and mapping switch.
Next week I'm gonna pick her up and ride, ride ride...

Questions anyone? Lol, the tires are trailwings. The front is tw39 (90-100/19 the rear is a tw42 (130-80/17) both are factory tires for discontinued Honda dualsports. They are way sticky on the pavement and are almost knobby like in the desert areas I ride.

As for the wheel combo size I chose, I have short legs. The 2" shorter help in traffic a bunch. Not to mention it looks like some kind of vintage street tracker. Oh ya. The front is 1.0 lower and the rear is 1.5 lowering links.

Woody built those wheels to 690 specs. Since my bike started as a smc I have a radial caliper, and wider triples then enduros. I use different spacers and a factory spacer on the rotor. I use the same factory Cush drive with the rad hub. The rear rim is 3.5 wide to keep the tire laid out nicely on the street but narrow enough to protect the rims in the dirt. The front is a 2.15 wide. Zach at wood'ys said that would be good for a 110 front if I wanted more street performance.

I think I answered everyones Questions. I bought the Ktm as a commuter. And now it's been assigned new roles! Lol

Are the pics you took on the show room floor? Did your bike come with the pannier racks? The bike looks like it's ready to go!
