You're not going to like this My 690 started out as a EnduroR but got a 530EXC so 690 is more or less converted to SMC (wheels, shock, forks, brakes...). Also did the evo2/bench job. Use it for all tarmac duties including track (even raced it) and touring. In pic I have the rack (modified for top box) and an old FZ1 aftermarked screen I had. So that's the touring part.

But for track I didn't like the body position as handlebars are to high. So had another bar I tried. Does look a bit strange but actually feels surprisingly good, lots more weight on the front but still comfortable. Might keep it like that for road/touring as well. And should be much easier getting into race tuck on track.

I can't tell the difference between "standard" and "performance", and "soft" is plain boring. So the only time I've ever touched that switch (except to try it out when I first learned about it) is for low octane fuel, and I've only done that twice in the whole life of the bike. I've used my right-hand mirror more than twice.

I've heard some people talk about using "soft" for mud? I don't ride in mud much... but I've never had a problem. Maybe some people suck at throttle control.

Google+ this feedback

Thanks dude!

We need to show off our bikes more, this thread was on page 4 and when I noticed that I was in total shock! Now it's back at #1 :)

And totally off topic: this is such a great bike!

So in essence you're saying there are as many riders during winter as there are in summer?

Well, yes, if not everyone sells their bike during winter....
Studded tires (tyres,wheels..) is the shit. Get some and start enjoy the bike all year.
And it´s not as painfull when you crash.
