Monticello Box and Chloride Creek 9-26-10

The ride started at the Springtime Campground.

Burma Road has been damaged by recent rain.

The road has not seen any maintenance beyond this sign.

Akasy went ahead to check the road. The spot with a bad washout was still passable on a motorcycle.

This is the middle of the Monticello Box, where we entered from the high ground.

There was a slick spot.

This was a food and fuel stop.

The water was low in Chloride Creek.

I had a spectator on the rock to the right of the bike.

This is the only picture I have from the return run through the Monticello Box.

Monticello looked the same as always.

John’s KTM was a little too fuel hungry to be able to make it back to the truck. This is where it ran out of gas. Steve was waiting with the KTM when I showed up. John and Akasy went on to Springtime Campground. I had plenty of gas in the XT to share but we didn’t have any 2-stroke oil.

After John returned with the truck to pick up the KTM, I rode to Springtime Campground where Akasy was waiting for me with his truck. The total distance of this ride was 150 miles.
