The important points are:
  • 19 litre fuel tank.
  • Optional ABS.
  • Givi luggage.
The only shortcoming is the lack of a snakeskin seat.

The old BMW R1200S was (on paper) what I reckon my ideal bike is. This seems to be pretty similar in terms of specs, and I'm looking forward to taking a look.

I'm off to Intermot next weekend. This will definitely be looked at...

The Tiger 800 is my dream 'Beast' but I think this bike is now my dream 'Road Warrior'.

And if the ZRX1200 is the Z-Rex, is the Z1000SX the Z-Sex??

Since I don't buy bikes new and don't buy 1st year releases, I guess it will be a while till I buy this one. But if Kawa got it right the 1st time, I see myself buying a new bike next year.

My FZ1 is here to stay especially with its 150 rwhp.

Luggage? check

Have you tuned it? Most specs I see on the FZ1 quote 131bhp at the crank..

How's the notorious fuel-injection?

Didn't any of you notice they're making a big bore retro too?
I've become a sucker for retros. Classic looks, new components, BIG grunt and BIG grin
BTW, that colour is NOT Kawa green, it's sort of the S1000RR green hue. It's gotta be Kawa green and Kawa mean, right? Right!

I hear you on that...However, I wouldn't be too worried about this one since it's pretty much the same bike as the Z1000 which has been out for a while and has proven to be a pretty solid bike.

I'm in love with this bike. But wait to see comparison tests.

I have been thinking about this bike quite a bit and like it in concept. I'd like to see it with hard bags. The exagerrated high tails on modern sport styled motorcycles can create aesthetic and weight distribution problems when hard luggage is added. It would be nice if it didn't have a chain that needs to be oiled every day on a trip.

Love the metalic Green
Love the ABS
Love that they left the grunt in that big stonkin' motor
Love the light weight
Love the added fuel capacity
Love the hard luggage option
Love the adjustable screen

I wonder how many amps the alternator will kick out
I wonder if the bars have a neutral or weight forward bias and if bar risers will be available.
I wonder if a good real seat will be available.
I wonder how much it wil cost in the US if it is made available.

This could well prove to be the best SPORT-touring bike available. If the comfort issues can be addressed, I think it will be.

Suzuki should have done this with the SV1000.

I wonder if the top triple from the naked Z with its tube bars would fit...

However it does have eccentric adjusters. The best chain adjusters ever.

The positive vibe this bike is generating makes me think this will sell well. Hope it makes it stateside..
