I'm usually at 30-32 fr and 32-34 rear. That seems to be the best compromise between best wear and best traction.
For offroad excursions on loose surfaces I air down to about 21-22 psi (no rimlocks, or I could go down to around 18 or so). I always have air with me to air back up when returning to pavement and minimize heat buildup at road speeds. Tip of the day: Locate your 12V receptacle and your pump where you can get to them without unpacking anything on the bike. DAMHIK. To the poster who intends to run the pressure listed on the tire: That is the max safe pressure for the max rated load. Tires inflated to the limit tend to give up a significant amount of traction as the contact patch is reduced at the higher pressures. Don't find out the hard way.

Bridgestone S11...front and rear. I got great mileage out of these tires. I run 'em 4 pounds less than max......

There may be some truth to because when i got my 72 Commando a few years ago it had the stock tires on it and i replaced them with the same Dunlop and the old tires had a lower pressure listed on it than the new ones. |
