Hell you could leave West Texas any time today and be here tonight. I used to ride Dallas to here all the time ... ~980 miles.

Don't go to Dunton but turn right on FR611. This road will take you over to Lone Cone. I can't make out the smaller
FR numbers but you want to head to Beaver Park and then down to Norwood. Its easy and gorgeous country. From Norwood you head over to Nucla then up on the Uncompahgre Divide via Mesa Rd to Colombine Pass. Once on the Divide Road you motor over to Gateway, descend down into Dolores Canyon and hit John Brown Canyon Rd just outside Gateway. That road will take you into the Lasals and Utah with Moab just over the Mtns. Any decent map will show the route. It is awesome. Maybe I'l catch you guys on the WEst Slope somewhere.
Jim
Thank you!

Using this as a rough guide.. here's the route I put together from Rico to Norwood - in this 3d perspective you can see Wilson Peak, Mt. Wilson, etc

Only real issue is Silverton has 40% chance of snow tomorrow which means the passes around it might be fookered

Have a great ride

A friend is flying in from St.Louis. Trucking our bikes along I-70 on Thursday morning. Back for an evening flight out of DIA on Sunday.

See you there.

I'm leaving Wednesday night from Northern CA. Should be into Moab Thursday afternoon. I'm driving down with the 530 in my truck, and a buddy from Boulder is bringing his plated WR.

Look forward to meeting you guys.

No, his name is Bob. He's pretty new to the dirt so I don't know what type of trails he'll be up for. I guess we'll find out.

Passes

A friend skied Velocity last week (Wed 10/6 http://www.silvertonmountain.com/upl...d56a48cb11.jpg) so there's a little accumulation up high. I haven't heard of anyone crossing the passes in the past few days

I think we might be snookered up really high... just captured this from Telluride ski cam.

That white zig zag on the far side of the valley is Imogene pass

I'll see what Craig feels like - perhaps we'll do the north west desert instead

I wouldn't want to ride Imogene with snow.

Boatman and I are in BV and heading to Grand Junction in the morning to do some more riding. After a straight 30 hour drive, we immediately jumped on the bikes and hit 4 mile until it was past dark
