Wicked There's TROUBLE Headed to Pioneertown

What started as one guy asking another guy if he wanted to ride, turned into eight trouble makers showing up at the Ranch Without Rice Sunday morning. Ya see after a long dry summer we had been getting hit with some rain squalls the past few days. In the desert that means 3 things; Cooler temps, less dust, and better traction.

Of the 8 bikes only one was made in Japan. Is the offroad tide turning back to Europe?

As soon as we hit the pavement we did not to go unnoticed by a law enforcement officer. A newly installed center divider aided us in our escape, although at the time we didn't know we were being pursued.

A couple miles of blacktop and we were in the dirt.

Workin' out the morning cobwebs.
TE250 Buck Moberly

This hillclimb is easy if you make it. If you don't, not so easy.
Trouble

It was at this point that one of the riders said 5 months ago he had a heart attack and wasn't feeling up to riding yet. So he and his riding buddy were going to split off on there own.

This put us at 6 riders to forge ahead to Pioneertown, the long way.

There was plenty to keep us from getting bored on the way.

Nowwhat

Buck Moberly was on the smallest bike, a TE250. He rode sweep all day. Thanks Buck

The little Husky that could.

For the past 3 years and 68,000 miles I've ridden The Mighty 950 exclusively.
I've got two new ridding buddies (Dave & Mike) that have opened a Beta dealership in Palm Springs and they let me try one for this ride. I think it's because they knew what would happen. I'm in love!

It really made my day alot easier and faster.

Fun group.

About halfway through the ride we went to a new hidden canyon I found recently for a break under the only big tree around for miles.

Nowwhat clears out

So Buck Moberly can roll in.

Break time.

more to follow!

Thanks for the photo Buck. Feel free to post up more. Especially any you got from the more challenging parts of the loop. I had battery/SD card issues before we got there.

Here's part 2 of the video.

Thanks Rivka. That means a lot coming from the Queen of the 1.5 million view thread. Your ride reports have a calming effect on me and your photos are inspirational. But I still wish you'd give the RC8 another chance. Maybe it's an acquired taste, like coffee.
