New Jersey, Sunday, 7/20, Pavement Ride

Kickstands up at 9:30 from Gronsky's MilkHouse in High Bridge, NJ. They cook a pretty good breakfast, so get there early enough if you're going to eat.

Destination, after an appropriate amount of twisties, will be Jacktown Steam.

Not a bad day for a ride

I think we had 10 people at the start: 3 KTMs, 3 Beemers, a Duc, a Kawi, a Suzuki, and a Yamaha.

Since it was July, someone had the red, white, and blueberry pancake (minus the eastern seaboard)

After breakfast we headed out on the green route

Call it a "G" ride: we had girls, goats, geese, g-outs, and gumps (soft g, sounds like a j) Remarkably free of traffic, we started with some tighter stuff below 46, then somewhat more open above it and to the west, then some more tight stuff, before becoming more open towards Jacktown.

Jacktown was as usual- Pensyltucky at heart and in spirit . Lots of neat and inventive +100 year old engines/machines that helped build the country, flea market, tractor pull, music, etc.. Fun place if your're into that stuff.

Oh, and one additional thing this year

Check out the trees and bushes blowing behind it.

Only 'cause it was parked next to me

We headed out to do the magenta route back; going off route a little for gas and some ice cream: with people splitting off where it made sense for them.

All in all a pretty nice day.

Is that the soft j as in Jesus of Palestine, or the soft j as in Jesus of Puerto Rico? I think we did some of each.

Thanks for hosting us peckerheads today. It was a lot of fun. It's hard to imagine how you stuffed so many roads in between the start and where I split off to head for home. Looking at your map, it all makes sense!

Nice ride!!!

Thanks Walter and Lulo for leading a couple of groups through some decent twisties! Some challenging chicanes, conditions, etc.

And the funnel cake at the redneck motor mash was again fantastic.

p.s., tried a little of the Ghost chili pepper hot sauce with the boys when I got home, and the tongue is still burning! Serious stuff! Wonder if it would add any horsepower to the RC8 if I added it to the gas?
