What Jesse said... But think of it as buying a nice set of wraps and having to dispose of tires that don't work.

The key is to wait for the speedy guys to fall over, THEN pass

Chit, buy em.

If they kinda work, RAD. Or use them in the woods this winter.

If they don't work, pull the screws and run them in summer. Trade the used screws to an ATVer for a box of beer. And use the wraps for the good ones you'll buy.

As a relative offroad n00b, I am used to this. Though after next weekends Bitter End ride, I think I will have earned the right to dispatch the n00b title. I did ~200 miles last summer and nearly 2000 this summer. Hell, I was even faster than a few at Leaf River and did sections that others (no names necessary) wussed out on.

Now if only I had a bike that used a 19" rear. Would be fun to pass some of you "pros" on homemade tires (right up until I crash, which I am also getting good at).

Tire machines DO NOT work with ice tires.

After carefull consideration........

I'm out for ice riding, the cost of an 18" rear wheel on top of the tires and traveling to FDL has put the kabosh on the whole idea.

19" rear is fine... You could get them CN tires from MPLS...

And, others come up from FIB land... Car pool. Or ride further South.

Way too much fun to give up on....

seems to be most of his ice time was pushing the bike around

ought to be plenty of riding down that way, isn't there?

Good tires.... The bike????? I like grips that go all the way to the end of the bars....
