And for a refresher.

Remember, as you head out on the frozen lakes that there is a real chance you can go through, get cold and die. Our crew does a lot of scouting and checking for safe conditions. We will advise access points, routes, roads and tracks but ultimately it is your decision to venture forth.

I've watched that video several times. Talk about dedication
As in most situations, the key is to remain calm. Easy enough right?

Now, if you can get rid of them fargin sturgeon iceholes ( ) imagine how safe it would be

Not yet. I have some maintenance on the 300 and the KDX. Got a fat guy spring and want to convert to 12v so I can run heated grips. Also going to pull the top end off the KDX and see if the power valve is working or not. Nathan's going to be learning how to work on smokers.

heated grips would be kinda nice. Hopefully my MSR gloves do the trick. Otherwise I'll have to resort to the hippohands. and I don't like riding with those.

Heated grips are ok, but heated gloves kick ass. Or better yet, use both and throw on some heated socks while you are at it. Sadly the new YZ will never be able to power this stuff unless I convert it to a WR electrical system. Perhaps I should deal with the busted case first .

I think I have 30 watts I can play with on the 300. I had heated grips on the 450, but with the hippo hands, I never had to turn them on. I still plan on picking up some of the Moose Monarch Pass gloves, they felt nice when I tried them on and weren't too thick.

Can't decide if I should shoe the motor into another frame with ice tires and no electric or pull all of the blinkers and lights off of the street version.

With out lights I'd have lots of 6v power for heated gear- maybe even heated studs to make up the difference in ho-made to papas Canuks.

Looks like I hung up my "Mission Accomplished" banner a little too soon.

NOW the KTM is ready for the ice.

Water pump seal replaced, fresh oil, new coolant,
the heated grips connected properly, air in the front tire,
and to top it all off some racing stripes
