Let me back up a little
This was the 'other' side going in:

Looks like a lack of maintenance, no signs here.

Other random photos;

This was not good to see;

Look like nice country.
I understand getting onto trails that at the other end say keep out, but I'm not sure about rubbing it in and identifying a larger group of riders who will all be guilty by association. I think ADVRider, besides promoting riding, wants to promote respect for property and the environment.
My .02.

Jo momma in 3...2... Everything was fine with the report until the ADV carving. Probably what most people will complain about. Nice pics though!

Yeah, cool ride, but you just know that's going to show up on some environmentalist site...

How did you mange to stop with the front caliper detached and rear brake is almost useless on the KLR!

Nice view:

Did you catch anything? and if yes... what? using what? inquiring minds want to know.

Fortunately I was stopped at a lake and was just getting started again when I heard a weird noise. I torqued the remaining bolt and went slow back to camp (14 dirt miles & 45 road miles) and didn't touch the front brake.
A local hardware store carried a replacement.
After owning this KLR for 8 years, pretty much everything is weak, but it has been reliable during my solo adventures.

This was a combo fish/ride/camp/scout for a buck.
If it was 'double doe' season I could have harvested two with one chunk of lead:

One thing I noticed was the lack of deer in open cattle country. Must be a food competition thing.
