Thank you for the report. A reminder that I am quite lucky to live in the middle of some of the best riding to be found.

Actually aren't there some hills in western Iowa? Seems I remember them heading to Mt. Rushmore(in a motorhome so that does not count here). It was the week of Sturgis(We did not know this) so you know it was damn hot! I decided to take the whole family to South Dakota in this used motorhome we had just bought. It was a Vouge so when it was new it was a real gem.
After entering S.D. I decided to play a trick on the kids. Since the thermometer was showing 110 degrees outside I put the dash heater on in the motorhome. Don't you know the damn thing got stuck on. The switch broke i could not take off the freakin dash heater. The roof a/c started to trip off having to try and cool off the 29' motorhome in 110 degree heat with the dash heater stuck on. Long story short I finally had to call Vouge Mfg. to get a tech to walk me thru the steps to get the freakin heater off.
Great pics and yes if you go back check out Devil's Tower and stay the night. They play the movie
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind every night.
The Vision is an attention whore for sure.

Loess Hills. Pretty much the only decent riding near Omaha.

There's some interesting stuff in Nebraska too, you have to get off of I-80 though....

Just found this report Aaron. I was wondering how you are doing. "Wife" 'n' kids good? Tell 'em I said "hey"...

If the firetruck signs were for the Firehouse Restaurant in Rapid City you missed a good place... but it would have slowed you down! Holy shit, man, that was a marathon ride!

Lets hook up when the snow thaws. Tim owes you a beer anyway.

Alls well here - the snows slowed down my riding for now....hows that new job working out?

Yeah those trucks were for that restaurant.....I wanted to go but time crunch dictated I visit "zee Golden Arches"......but Im thinking of going back.

I bought a KLR650 off another inmate here....was wondering what I was missing out by not riding the dirt roads around The Badlands.....did you guys stick to the pavement or venture off?

Definitely looking at heading east on my travels this year.....you can never see enough of anywhere, but Ive seen a good amount of west.....not much of the east. Hopefully we can meet up.

Job is good. Long drive to work though, since no one wants to buy my house. 80 miles one way.

We hit some gravel on the back of the Badlands, and a bunch of gravel around Devils Tower; and then of course a veritable shitload of gravel in the rest of Wyoming, and Montana and Colorado. I'd say the gravel stuff out there is far superior to the pavement - and there is no one on it.

The KLR is a good bike. You can have an awful lot of fun on one of those.

Let me know if you mosey this direction. You always have a place to stay.

Well I see I'm about a year late in responding to this....but...what do you mean "ain't nothing to see here-home of corn and flat ground"?? You must be from western half of Iowa. Try the NE area of Iowa and along the Mississippi...great place to ride and plenty to see...rolling hills, valleys, caves, stylish churches, museums, etc.

Thanks for that. Changing leaves on quiet 2 lanes are always great shots.
