Black Bear Pass

To follow up with my San Juan report and video, this is the video of Black Bear Pass:

And due to an editing error, when I had to shorten the video slightly, the caption for the "steps" is a little off.

Wow! Very nicely done!!

I've been over Black Bear in my 4Runner a few years back...the steps were a challenge. How were they on the bikes?

I assume the switchbacks going down to Telluride were a piece of cake for a bike compared to a 4-wheeled vehicle.

Thanks for sharing!

Probably easier on bikes. Of course, if I had been able to use a little more footage from the GoPro you would have seen us walking the DR650s through the worst of the steps. Not bad if you do that. Still plenty of pucker, though.

On a geared down DR650 I thought the steps were much more a headgame than difficult. I think without all the naked gravity they are the kind of thing I ride all the time without a second thought, but that exposure can get in your head for sure
