Talking Yip . Throttle pinned WIDE OPEN .

I tend to agree . I can see the bike fishtailing over those whoops pinned wide open 100 + miles an hour .

RESULT - BIG ASS GRIN .

Its actually a kolpin tank. 1.5g if i recall. Tested it and luckily no leaks, so for the money i guess its not a bad piece of kit. I have not made use of it though.

Took my kolpin to the Arctic Circle. Over 8000 miles and no leaks!

Over two weeks ago in New York, we crated the bike up for shipment to Iceland. When we got to the IcelandAir Cargo office, we were told that the crate wasn't supplied. We phoned a few local companies, and they wanted close to US$1,000 just for a wooden box! We decided to visit a nearby Home Depot, purchase some lumber and build our own. We spent $120 for wood and Paula contracted an foreign man who was looking for work to deliver the wood to the cargo depot, 5km away, for $30. Halldór, the IcelandAir Cargo employee who was organizing the shipment of the motorcycle, brought his cordless drill in for us to use, and Paula and I spend a day building our crate.

After a two-week wait, the motorcycle just arrived in Iceland today. We will be picking it up tomorrow (Monday). Looking forward to getting back in the saddle.

What is the price to ship it over to Iceland?

This summer we went on vacation in northern and northeast of Finland. This is on the 4:th of july, on the United States Independence Day.

It's my 990, my girlfriends BMW 800 GS and my brother on a Honda Africa twin.

We're trying to get caught up, but we are, as expected, way behind on the RR.

We were quoted US$1,500 several months before leaving for the trip. When we arrived in New York, we were told that the price was a stand-by quote. This, along with the fact that my ownership and shipping papers got stuck in US customs, was the reason we have been waiting for two weeks in Iceland for the bike. Shipments only go out once a week on Saturdays, and we missed last weeks' shipment, which, we were told, was full anyway.

When we got here, we camped out in the park across from the public library (which we later found out was also the mayor's office) in the town of Keflavík, a few kilometers form the airport. A local guy saw us and offered us his "hut by the sea" to stay in while we waited for the bike.

We pick the bike up tomorrow. The cost for the shipment was US$1,500 plus local NY tax (which is a decent price, in my opinion). We're also expecting to pay some warehouse and customs fees when we pick the bike up.
