It does take forming, without any whitening, and holds that form well. So my shade is cut from flat material with a shear, then I formed it in my vise. It is held on by Dual Lock, a velco-like material:

This shade WAS held on by industrial velco, but soon the wind buffeting and bumping loosened the shade so it was slightly flapping up and down (every little thing bugs me) so then I got some Dual Lock- amazing stuff that holds anything like cement- no flexing at all, but is fully removable- like to the tune of 5,000 times without degrading the material. Both sides of Dual Lock are the same, and it will only accept itself at certain angles- so stick it together, THEN attach it to the base object and whatever you are holding.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping for something off the shelf. Guess I will have to put that on my winter project list. I have a vacuum table, so forming these simple shape isn't a problem.

Just google "garmin [insert model] sun visor". I have 2 that are a vinyl material that velcro on and help quite a bit. They came with my units (used) in separate purchases so I know that are out there.

I'm strong with the Force.
I was thinking the same thing when I walked back to the bike.

I dont use the GLOSS- I use a kind of bare black finish (CA-421) that looks glossy at some angles, flat at others. So it is very tough material that is printed in a pattern that causes the texture to be kind of rough, but this is why it resists scratching so well- a lot better than the black plastic that KTM uses on their glove box. I started out as a novice wrapper, but now I could wrap your Grandmas reading glasses with the stuff... and I also use a 3M adhesive that helps the material stick in any weather- the stuff can freeze or fry- always looks good. Gasoline may loosen it for a bit, but it would tighten back up again- it is a type of vinyl actually- but more like tough plastic wallpaper. It is ever cuts or fails, I can wrap the whole thing over again... just takes minutes with a heat gun and a little knowledge of how to form it.
