I took my 990 over there last year - I found it very hard work - particularly in the softer tracks where you end up in the 4WD ruts. I can't remember how many times I picked that bike up but I was knackered!!Swore that next time I go I'll take the 350!

990 Baja on trails

Shot a little riding yesterday. Nothing insane and it's shakey. I mounted the cam in a bad place. Still, might be worth watching.

The windscreen is from Rade: http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....7&postcount=99

I really like it more than stock. I'm 5'10" and it offers better wind protection, less buffeting and the lights are far superior: You can get it in black gelcoat if you wish, or just paint the CF.

New piston, rings and jugs (Thanks Pyndon) cam chains, sliders, misc gaskets, seals and other updates, chassis overhaul then a 6,500 mile test ride.

Looks like I won't be needing an 1190 any time soon

it's one of the original 2003s with 65,000 miles (now 71,000)

It'd been swamped a couple times and getting crank pressure from too much blow by. I was just going to do the rings and cam chains but the front cylinder had some scoring and the pistons/rings were at the limit. Then I found the rear slider had broken and a piece was lodged in the primary/pulsar ring gears. Crank and the rest were primo.

Any closeup pictures on how the fork guards are mounted? Working right now on trying to fit that kind on my new 990R.

Have it a little easier since I will be going with a single disc and caliper and think I have figured out how to do it now but if I can steal a good solution Im all theif!
