dirtinblood's bike

Here's my bike, as equipped during our recent trip to Alaska and back. Three of us did just under 19,000km in 31 days. read all about it here. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146027
The bike performed excellent throughout the trip and was well suited to theis type of riding.
PS.-That's not me in the picture! Frank only had 3 hrs sleep just as this was taken. Although I'm sure I looked just as tired.

My new 950 and my old one!!!

I had a silver 03 950 which I had to sell as I needed a daily commuter as I was doing 100ks a day 5 days a week. I sold it and bought a 640 for adventure work and a really cheap Triumph Tiger for my daily driver.

I have changed jobs where I no longer need the commuter bike, so a near new 04 950 made its way home.

I have just fitted my Ohlins Dampener and KTM Race pipes (with a little breathing mod), high guard, and waiting on 990 tank protectors. The rear suspension has been revalved and the front has heavy fork springs... All my mates ride KTM640s and BMW Dakars, and are dragging me down every tight single trail trying to show me the error in my ways going back to a bigger KTM. I do fall a bit behind in the tight, but enjoy showering them with rocks and mud as the tracks open up!!!!!!!!!! I love that silly 950GRIN

Woodys wheel works are making me up a set of 19/17" wheels for the road work and posting them out to Australia for me.... The wankers here in Oz couldn't orgainise it, it was too hard, never heard of that combo... blah blah blah.......... Chris from Woody's is a fantastic dude to deal with. I will post piccies once my wheels arrive.

mortaygo, what size fuel can were you packing on that Ventura Rack? I carried a 2 gallon can on a Ventura rack when I had my V-Strom no problem. The rack I just got for my 950 is a few inches narrower, and I'm wondering if it'll be strong enough.

You got the "nasty 'ol SEABEE" right. It was the right deal, AND the right color....

Did 100 miles this morning. The rear Scorp. is on it's way out.

Xlint!
You'll find the TKC-80's do a great job when you get 'em on. I spend the better part of summer riding the crap out of mine. Mammoth area is definately 950 country. Utah has great rides as well, I rode part of the Pauite ATV with it, tho I prefered the drz. I'm heading to Utah in a couple of weeks to do some Moab stuff and what else I don't know. I think probably Capitol Reef area or somewhere near Fishlake as base..

You ?

that is a 5ltr, I have also carried a 10ltr on the seat. I hope to have a frame manufactured to take some andy strapz soft panniers.
