That hill climb was pretty steep but doable. Pretty sure my 908 rear is done though. Hochtouren went first and mad it up the farthest by at least 10-20feet. Had to fanagle his way to the top off the side of this trail. I made 2 attempts but it was too spun up and my rear tire couldn't bite. Gonna give her another go with new rubber next time. We both agreed that trying a new tractionator would be fun here! My 908 has a couple of mm's of center at best and the lugs that are there are starting to crack away.

There may even be crash video of one of these attempts!

Sorry man - I was so winded from the left side slam, then the right side high-side, then fighting that heavy beyotch off to the side into the roots... I was struggling just to remember how my own camera worked at this point. Like you all know, pictures do no justice to slope angles. BK was about half a second from launching into the weeds here. So steep that your brain won't let you off the throttle even if you're no longer going in the right direction! We gave it hell though.

High guard and brake line route

I just converted my 990 to high guard and notice that one of you runs the brake lines inside the forks, the other outside. Is there a risk of the tyre eating the lines on the inside or, is there a risk of snagging bushes when run on the outside?

I've used the guide wires mounted on the brakes to keep the cables tight to the inside of the forks - haven't had any issues at all with tire interference so far, but will have to keep an eye on the guides. I've butchered the stock fender to produce fork guards, so don't have as comprehensive a coverage as Beema Killa with his 690-adapted covers, so he's routed a little differently as a result. In general, I end up in enough bush and scrub that I don't want the lines exposed on the outside - works for me, but everyone has their own application and decision drivers.

We both run 'em inside the forks. Just differently due to difference in fork guards. Don't run them on the outside! You need to use the fork to protect them. If you look at mine you'll see mine are actually close to the rim(low) and then strapped to fork guards in a way they arc away from the rubber and up by the fender. Doing this means the only way for the rim to grab the lines is if you taco a wheel and the rim sidewall grabs them. I spent quite awhile finally deciding on this routing and after many rides where full travel has been utilized constantly, happy to report that speedo and brake lines are intact with no signs of wear!

I run mine on the inside, and added some zip-ties to the fork legs where they meet the fork tube to make sure they refrain from flexing inwards towards the tire under compression and also to prevent chaffing of the line against the tube. 3yrs now, it's worked great.

I think Pyndon and others run them on the outside without much issue, but I suppose the worry is snagging the lines in that config...
