OK, DRZ back in one piece.

Who wants to ride Saturday? I'm up for most anything. Unless somebody comes up with something better, I'm heading either east into Alabama to work on a route I've ridden before or making a big loop to the southeast and back through the Noxubee Refuge and the Tombigbee NF.

Both routes will have some highway riding, but as little as possible. Mostly gravel roads and badly paved roads. I'd like to keep it to the morning, as I've got a Vstrom to reassemble so the wife and I can ride Sunday .

Sadly I'll be working a 12 on Saturday.

How I spent my day:

New rim for the wife's 2-fiddy

Also put on a windshield for her:

Tomorrow, some electrical work, and general reassembly. Hopefully that's all it needs!

No riding for me Friday afternoon. Got the satellite guy coming between 12 and 5 tomorrow. Gotta hang around here.

I did tear into the vstrom tonight. Shock on (easy). Forks under construction. Pain in the ass!

Y'all have fun riding!

Jackie says you're a pussy.

But I'd sell it too. Actually I would never have bought it. It's just too damn big for what I want to do with a bike with knobbies. But if you're into those Big Red Pigs, this is a great one!

Now how exactly is a windshield hard to install?

EDIT: Update your sig.

Selling the pig is part of the deal. Has nothing to do with being a pussy or not.

Damn thing is too tall for me though.

You'd of had to be there to see that stupid windshield mount design. BMW can kiss my ass on that one.

Hard to describe, but the windshield mounted using a bolt in a rubber sleeve, and instead of actually bolting INTO the mounts, it only squeezes the rubber tight inside said mounts. Kind of like wall anchors.....except they kept popping out. Absolutely TERRIBLE design.

That's how my windshield mounts. And yes, it is a pain in the ass. Well, it can be if it's feeling cranky. Longer bolts help, along with lots of spit.

So now that I've got a functional street bike again, when are we going to ride?

You'll have to look at mine then lol, cuz it's damn near impossible. Of course no instructions came with, and there are none to be found on the interwebz oddly enough.

We rode to C-bus today for lunch, and 80mph sans windshield sucks on that bike. As soon as I manage to get it mounted, we'll ride.

Working on selling my XRL, and once that's gone, I'll be in the market for a low and slow ds. Something to just tool around on. We'll have to hit up the kilgore area once I get it. Got a co-worker that lives near that area. I'll have to ask about it.
