Would you rate Sovereign to be moderate or difficult for intermediate riders? Great ride report-very inspiring with great pics!

Should be fine on a smaller bike. I personally wouldn't ride it on my 950, or on a 640 I used to have. Not because it can't be done, but because it would be way too much work(for me).
Intermediate rider is a very broad definition. I grade myself pretty low compare to other dirt riders.

I wouldn't be surprised if a mountain biker with good technical skills could move through this terrain faster than guys on motorcycles. After all, it's a lot easier to carry a bicycle up those steep sections!

Some of the best pictures I've seen of this area. Too hard core for me, but great to live vicariously through others.

You should have seen his face when we were getting cameras out. I think he didn't fell down only because of right footpeg getting stuck on something.

I really want to go back this year, may be october.

Unlikely. You can carry MTB up some of the BIGGEST steps faster, but everywhere else they will loose big time. Dirt bike got a lot more suspension and engine.
Did you ever ride Downieville? I was passing them everywhere. Same on slickrock or sovereign trails.

Looks like fun, Art.

The 640 is still running good but I won't be taking it there.

I was in Moab a few years ago with my jeep. Pictures never do the terrain justice. The ledges, climbs, and drops that are on some of those trails are pretty crazy. Great pics guys.
