All 500cc CX's had 16" rear wheels stock, EXCEPT the '78. that had a 18" rear wheel. you can get some Nice 120/70-18" rear tires to fit that rim. easy and cheap swap. just buy the rim and put it on.

EDIT:
I actually have a Spare 18" rear wheel you can borrow if needed. but i want it back after COtW.

Weird that sounded like I was at a AA meeting. Well anyways 1st thing to sort out was what to ride. The R1 was out of the question unless I wanted to be hunched over like a troll for the months to come. Love my Ape SXV 550 but after 70 or 80 miles on her yer in for a severe case of "baboon ass" and the spacing of fuel stops wouldn't help much either. The Berg FE 450, what to say, man that thing is pimp. However the service intervals would greatly inhibit my progress and would require more than the flat rock and pointy stick that make up my ghetto tool kit.

So they, along with a multitude of other fodder went on the block in my "selling my life to do TDF" thread on ADV flea market. After literary minutes of research I found the perfect ride to flee on and began to pimp it out.

Knowing I would desire big top end numbers so one 20 pac later the R&D department had laidout some badass flames on the beast adding atleast 50 MPH to ol girls top speed. With this now mindnumbing top speed there was noboubdt I was in need of aerodynamic help so I wouldn't get blown off the weapon at WFO. So one trip to Home Depot and R&D sloves the issue. Next would be acceleration. With a top speed as high as the stratousphere I would want to reach it as fast as possible. Enter my buddy Hamblin who hooks the beast up with a burlytwicepipe which rattles window for miles around and adds a estamated 35 HP. With this massive HP and seemingly unlimited top end I knew I would have to eventualy whoa this mighty beast to a hault. After literaly minutes of research on the web it was aparent no such upgrades were to be had. So I hand it off to the R&D department and within 3 beers they come up with the soon to be patented FFEBS.
