I love my Scottoiler. 80k miles on my last chain and I firmly believe it was due to my Scottoiler. This is on streetbikes. I wouldn't want one on a dirtbike.

But Fuzzy's talking about a steering damper.

What do you use for your dirt bikes?

wd-40 after every ride.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

(more like every other ride)

(or actually more like every time I remember)

Oil on a chain is great. Oil on an off-road chain that gets really dirty is not so great.

it seems to me that with o-ring and x-ring chains, the grease is internal, and the only reason to oil the outside is to keep it from rusting. if I oil the outside, it attracts dust and dirt. i'll clean and lightly oil it after a couple of rides, or every ride if they are nasty rides. I try to keep it dry, or oiled and wiped off usually. as long as it's clean, i'm happy!

I keep my chains like I keep my guns. well oiled, but wiped down.

Scotts

Scotts Steering Stabilizer
I got a weak left shoulder from a car accident 11 years ago. Really a blessing to me, to be able to ride at all.
Crashed a few times because the front end bouncing off of a rock or knifing in, in sand, not quite strong enough or fast enough to compensate hoping the stabilizer will help.

I hope it helps you Fuzzy. I sure liked the effect it had on Montek's bike. The steering on that is really amazing.

The last of the group just left. Great class. I've decided that if we give another class, I'm going to have a power point projector. Cyberdos did a great job instructing. It's way more computer involved than I knew.

Thanks to everyone that came, and to those who brought stuff with them. If you guys ever need a place for something, just let me know. As long as I'm in town, you can use my place.

Btw, did the GPS sign help?

Thanks Seabee1 & Cyberdos - very helpful! Wish I didn't have to peel out of there as soon as I did. Very helpful!

Ride Friday to Toroweap update:
Friday 8/23/13
0700 Meet at Starbuck's at the SouthWest corner of Ellsworth and Baseline
for those riding up with us.

After much debate and discussion we will be taking the route that goes through Payson and then Lake Mary Rd into Flagstaff and then up the 89A
to Jacob Lake. All paved road there but Saturday could be interesting depending on how much rainfall they get this week.

Next group ride I'm in, I just don't know if I'm down for a three day trip, two days of rest, then a ten day trip, the longest trip I've ever done being one day (six hours). But tomorrow morning I'm going East on the 60, up the 188 to 288 to West on the 260 and back down the 87 from Payson. Six hours, thirty miles of dirt, and I'm planning on leaving well before daybreak. So if anyone is interested PM me.
