Was a pleasure giving you guys some tips on how to use these things. As you all can tell, they are a bit more complex than you thought. I hope everyone got some good info that will help you out with your units or at least be able to use it enough for you not to want to chuck it down a canyon.
I feel as if the class was only half done. There's still a ton more to share and that much more to learn even for myself. Sorry about the technical glitches at the beginning. I should probably upgrade my 10+ year old PC. Not today though. When I got home my downstairs A/C took a crap on me. I'm having someone come look at it tomorrow morning. There goes my DR's upgrades fund.

Six hours, thirty miles of dirt, and I'm planning on leaving well before daybreak. So if anyone is interested PM me.
If you want to add some fun take the Apache Trail (88) from the 60 to the 188. Super ez dirt and incredible scenery. Should be nice and void of tourists on an early morning run.

Wish I could go.

I was thinking in about 3 or 4 weekends doing a 2 day ride that would have multiple pull out spots for those who want a shorter ride. It would be big bike friendly but still much fun on a smaller bike.

Julio, I really think if we cram some more Ram in that machine and put Lubuntu on, it will run like a champ. I might also have a higher end processor for that thing.

Just in case you were wondering why go to Winslow. The road up is a very nice ride, and just before you make it to town, just off of the 99, is Clear Creek Reservoir. It is an interesting place I want to explore further.

Thanks SeeBea and Cyberdos for setting up the GPS class for us yesterday. I learned a lot, the venue was great and the instruction was perfect for my level of understanding of what to do with the gps and how it works

It was nice meeting all of you in person for a change too.
See you soon.

Where are you going to stay in Winslow? It's not a nice place.

The clear creek res. is cool. That's is a fun route. Definitely bbf.

LOL... these gadgets are a whole new ball game to me.

Is there anyone who might be available to help me wire up my GPS to the bike?
I've put the mount on already and just need a little help wiring it up. All I know about electricals is that "a toaster isn't a very good bath toy".
I can bring beer.

Dod I will most likely stay at the Motel6 in Winslow. It isn't a great place but it's like $50 a night for a room that accommodates 4. It is just a place to sleep and shower. The night life in Winslow is second to none.

Hey Brian I can help you rig up the power for your GPS. I would recommend that we install a cigarette lighter socket. This will allow use of most farkles that you want to add to the bike without having to wire again. Do you have the cable for your GPS that plugs in a cigarette lighter socket? If not buy one from the GPS company. The aftermarket ones will let you charge the GPS but you can't look at the screen while it's powered. Give me a shout and maybe you can swing by after I get off of work one day this week. -Paul

Paul-
Do you have the routes nailed down so you can send everyone GPX tracks to upload to their GPS'?

This is worth 10 points towards your final grade!
