Wicked Ta Daaaaa!! New project

Guess what I just picked up for 800 bucks

Apparently when the dude's wife said "Do whatever the F@k you want" it didn't quite mean what he thought it did (he only had it 5 days and four of them were spent advertised on CL)

It does need a little work, but I should have it up and running soon enough. New tubes, tires, levers and grips are on order

I have bit of work to do first, but we can hook up for a ride and swop bikes for a while if you like.

It's just a little 125 though that I want the missus to learn to ride dirt on, so you may be a little disappointed, but I think it's perfect for what it bought it for.

Once the missus wants a bigger bike, I've got dibs on that!

Nice score. I have a TTR125 which has way less power and much shitier suspension than that thing and I love it.

Those TTR's are great, I've ridden the 230 before, they're NOT the quickest but they're so sure footed that on tough rides you'll get to the end quicker than most others and with far less energy expenditure

Well, I didn't get on the computer until just a minute ago. I had a few chores to do. I still can't see Brian (6'5") on the YZ125. Still much to do before the trip to Toroweap. So thanks to Julio I spent all of 5 minutes making the maps. I tried doing this in the past and decided that I would keep my sanity and use paper maps.

KML file (Google Maps) http://www.fileswap.com/dl/w7H6791nXY/
GPX File (High end Garmin) http://www.fileswap.com/dl/K6BD4KQNG6/
IMG File (Zipped) (Garmin Nuvi) http://www.fileswap.com/dl/7Le7ihCls2/

So did you get the track to view on your nuvi?
On some GPS' it will create a generic .img file in your root directory when you upload it from Mapsource or Basecamp. What you'll want to do is go into your GPS' directory and simply rename that file to something that you'll remember (like Toroweap.img) That way, the next time you upload a map it wont override that map you've created.

I took it to the Coke Ovens ride last year and had a blast!

However, it's a bit too small for some.

I'm not sure how I'm going to get it all in either. Work is very busy this week and I have family stuff in the evenings that is going to put a damper on getting prepared for the ride. I'll fit it in somewhere though. Can't wait!

Thanks again for all of the info Julio and the tips. It seems that it gets a bit sketchy the more map layers that go in but if you put a map or two in it doesn't seem bad, then pull it out and start fresh when you are done. The colors help. That TTR looks like alot of fun. I had ridden the F650 and the KLR in the box canyon area, but it wans't until I rode the XR250 out there that I had fun. Those light little bikes are a blast.
