Food

Seabee1,

Are we still bring food Friday? If not maybe we could do something when Julio's friend is in town.

I don't really want to turn it into a BBQ, we can save that for another time.

I still plan on smoking a couple of salmon fillets and someone said they're bringing beer. Snack stuff I think is cool. I just don't want to be running a grill, you know?

I grabbed a new back D606,(few) spare tubes, and some tire spoons at cycle gear today considering my current one is already worn pretty thin.

Is this mainly going to be a spectating event on Friday or is it ok if I bring some "classroom materials" and attempt my own change. Hell Ill even ride over on my bike if someone has a stand I can use to pop my back wheel off..Im sure I can haul the rest on my back.

Class is hands on.

This class is totally hands on. The more people that bring their new tires the better. I will have my wheel balancer as well and weights to teach you guys that.

If you don't bring your own to change you will be doing mine....

I am working and can't make the class, but I want to give a shout out to Drew, Julio and Don. Taking time out to educate and help your fellow rider is what makes this such a great community!

You guys deserve a few cold ones. (Smoothies for Drew)

Can't wait until tomorrow for the class. Saturday morning DirtRider78, Viper05, and I will be riding up 4 peaks road to FR 422 to ride the Mazatzal Divide. Anyone who wants to come is invited.

We are meeting at the 4 Peaks staging area at 6.

Tire change class

Definitely IN, I've strapped my new Heidy to the bike this evening ready to go.

I tried to take the back wheel off the bike aswell cause I've never owned a shaft drive before and haven't managed to figure it out, (yet). I loosened everything that made sence but couldn't slip the wheel out.
Luckily I still have time to puzzle over it, but, if I don't get it figured out, does anyone going to the class know anything about the shaft drive on a Tenere?

Thats the Tenere' right?

You need to loosen the arm to the rear caliper. Pull the axle that will free up the wheel and claiper mount so you can now swing the caliper up and out of the way. Now the only thing holding the wheel is the cush drive rubbers. Just wiggle the wheel to the caliper side since that spacer and caliper are out of the way now.

I got figured out, thanks. The cush drive was hooking and preventing me from pulling the wheel. I got it now

Thanks though, I appreciate the help.
