Anyone wanna join me for a full moon ride around Roosevelt lake on the 19th? figured we'd go up the Bush Highway till we hit the 188 and then on to globe and home on the 60, so not too far, just a few hours.

Looks like the lighting will not be an issue?

yeah, pavement only. I'll meet you at the shell fuel station on the corner of power and baseline at 18:30
If anyone else wants to come along that'll be great.

I'm bringing Laura's bike tonight. I'm gonna use the ride to charge up her battery a little before she gets home, it's been sitting for a while and only getting started once a week for a short idle.

Wink Moonlight Ride

Something happens when you ride your bike, but even more so at night.
The pipe's thunder suppresses all sound. The engine vibrates at the heart's rate. Your field of vision funnels into the immediate, and suddenly you're not on the road anymore. You're in it, You're part of it, You are the road.
Traffic, landscape, full moon, bats and stars all blur out into fading images as you travel. All your thoughts become focused. You think about everything and nothing at once. At the same time all your worries wash out and pale before what is coming after the next turn. That becomes your main concern, your only concern.
In that single moment you know you're alive, happy.... FREE!!

Thanks for the ride, that was FANTASTIC!!!!

I didn't tell her but I think I was more surprised than she was. The exhaust is so loud every dog in the neighborhood was barking. I definitely need to quiet the beast down. In any case it was a good day!

Thanks for the pictures. That was a fun ride. I fell asleep thinking about the high speed sweeping turns...

and the dead coyote I bumped over on a straightaway.

We will then head up the Beeline and grad some gas and water in Payson.
I have a Forest map and we have nearly all day so it could lead to some good exploration. I am hoping that the area didn't get too flooded last week but there are so many areas to ride that we are sure to find some good roads.
See you all at Saguaro Lake -Paul
750Volts!, any idea yet what roads you have in mind post Payson?

This is if we have mid sized or smaller bikes. If we have some bigger bikes show up then I figured we would maybe do Houston Mesa to Control road then back on the slab to the 300 and take it up to Long Valley. There are plenty of side trips to be explored on all of these options and I am also open to alternative routes that won't involve hospital time.
Exploring sounds fun!
Breakfast Sounds fun too!
Would love to tag along if you got room for 1 more. I have several tracks for that area but need to add more

someone who lives there

ya'll
when you get to rye, go west on fs 414, the turn is across from the bike junkyard on the side the atv shop is on. take that to fs 406, doll baby ranch rd. it's paved. turn right to payson, left to doll baby ranch and east verde river crossing. if you feel frisky, cross the river, it's not bad, you just have to comitt... then fs 209a, crackerjack mine rd. take that to sr 87, paved. turn right to payson, left to pine for gas & lunch. on way back go south on sr 87 to control rd, only couple miles from pine, turn left there and take it all the way to sr 260.
stop in tonto village at the DD for a cool one & say hi to them.
turn right on sr 260 back to payson.
i know more but i think that will take care of you for the day. route is BBF, done by BMW 1150 & KTM 990.
i expect pictures, specially if ya'll cross the river.
remember, it's an adventure.....
i have found that the tonto national forest map is best for this area.
enjoy......db
