Was that your group sitting at one of the look out points on FR300 when a couple of KTM's went by?

I occasionally ride with a guy like that... every thing's a race. More power to him but our last trip on FR300 resulted in this conversation

"did you see all the elk"
"what elk?"
"dude, the elk right along the road"
"your pulling my leg"
"so you didn't see the turkeys either?"
"now I know your BS'in"

He still doesn't believe he could fly right past a herd of elk and not see them. That's how fast he goes. Not for me... I'm afraid of dying and actually enjoy the view

I have a riding buddy that doesn't ride fast and we have the same conversations. I think some people ride with blinders on. 20 miles of nothingness along the Pony Express trail in Utah, then out of no where, a beautiful wild mustang no more than 20 feet from the trail. Did you see that mustang!? What mustang?? WTF??

Control Road is supposedly under construction at the moment. The sign says "expect delays," but I have not been on it recently.

The Colcord way to Young, past Haigler Creek, is a beautiful ride, nice views as well.

I am glad to hear the Antlers is back in business. Last time I was up there (the road was covered in snow, so you know how long ago that was), Antlers was just beginning to be rebuilt.

Have fun. I will be in NM that weekend on the road bike otherwise I'd think about joining you guys.

Thanks, Paul!

Thanks for the info on Control Road as well. I wondered how messed up it was. I am sure glad they fixed that weird part of the 260 by Thompson Draw, BTW. I am so looking forward to my trip this week. It's been a whole month since I've been out on the road and that is just not acceptable! :-)

See you soon!

I need to find a bike. I don't know what got into me. Thought I would post my Strom up for sale and put a high price tag on it. Well someone came by and made me a nice offer. Now I am without. I guess it was meant to be, now I have to figure what is next. And to top it off, just found out that my part time fun money job will be NO MORE! the Dealer is closing the Rental Dept. They need to make cuts somewhere. Things are tough and not getting any better.

New Tenere' or GSA NO WAY Now!
