This was one of the first blogs I read when I moved to the valley. Apparently a girl can ride to the top of Ord on a GS. I say try it.
That's Jo, with the az beemers. She does great write ups of her adventures.

Really? How do you defeat a bad guy who has a gun? With a good guy who has a gun.

Good guys with guns never concern me.

That story brought back a memory of when I worked at a circle k as a kid. Graveyard shift, had a gas run. I took it personally and decided to chase the guy down. He wound up trying to make a turn way too fast and wrapped a stop sign around the front of his car. Literally pulled it out of the ground, concrete and all, sign post bent over the front of the car, and the sign slapped the windshield out. I just kept on rolling....
Figured he had payed enough for the gas!

( I'm not much better now)

Ride tomorrow

Anyone want to do a day ride tomorrow on October 8th? I will be riding a 950 so any place that is big bike friendly would be nice.

I'd be down for that, I don't work until the evening. Where do you want to go?

If I didn't have to be at work I would ask to join you tomorrow.

Loren, Kathy and I are talking about doing Sheep Bridge loop backwards Saturday if anyone is interested. Right now that is all the planning we have done but wanted to throw it out there.

Any idea of where you want to go? I only really know Four Peaks, Apache Trail, and the trail out east on the 60 that ended up being more difficult than expected.

I might be able to swing the Sheeps Bridge run...why backwards? All I know is the Nightstalker route...not sure if that is frontwards or backwards

I don't know alot of rides around here either but this one looks fun....

I think its the 'Montana Mtn loop'.....wish I could go tomorrow.....

Day ride

I have only done single track at sycamore creek and other various places. I am down with four peaks to apache trail. Or we can do the Coke ovens near Florence, but I am not familiar with these areas.

I'm down with Four Peaks/Apache Trail. Meet at the gas station at Brown and Ellsworth at 7am? Or earlier?

Michhub, I'm not sure if that's the same trail that KC (I can't remember his username) and I attempted, but if so, it gets hairy. It starts off nice and mellow and continues on that way for a while until it gets to some steep, rutted climbs that aren't really big bike friend. On closer inspection I'm pretty sure that is the trail, and we went right at the fork.

You may want to warn these folks that the coke ovens is one of the most difficult jeep trails in the area. Do a search for nightstalkers ride reports of our annual day after thanksgiving coke oven rides.

And if you do the sheeps bridge loop, going clockwise is easier than anti clockwise. Only because of a very short uphill right at the bridge.
