so, going anti clockwise, the little downhill to the dam is the same as always, the little hill climb at the bridge is smoothed out pretty well, just one step right in the middle of the climb, wont be a problem for those who will want help getting up.
the tight turns in the walkway are big enough for a bmw GS 1200 to fit, with several guys lifting ends and finessing it round

i was gonna ride elsewhere tomorrow but now i just might do sheeps bridge, may head out early and do a bit of fishing before ya'll show up though.

ride safe folks

Bulldog Canyon Locked

I took my son to Bulldog Canyon again this evening and we had a great ride. Dan was able to ride all the way to the wash and up the canyon a little ways.

We headed back to the gate, because it was starting to get dark and too my surprise; the combo lock had been flipped with a key lock.

I had no way of opening the gate. Luckily; a truck with a quad trailer pulled up and I told him we were screwed. He helped me lift my DR over the Pedestrian gap and he drove back home.

I am pretty pissed that I got locked inside the gates with a permit in my pocket.

At least my son and I got 2 hrs on the trail.

I hope everyone is alright!

That was some ride today...It started out with a big breakfast @Cindy's...

We then worked our way to the next meeting spot in Cave Creek...along the way I spotted the Costalota Ranch
Picked up at least three or four more riders maybe more it was a decent group....just before the dam...

Our first challenge passed without issue...not a drop of water running over or behind the dam for that matter...
then we get to Sheeps Bridge...now the fun begins....the intel we received on that 'little' uphill was a tad misleading...
teamtaz (aka Bob) wasted no time hurling his XRL at the hill

He made it look easy...it was NOT...we had two 990's in the group mine & EZ300...Eric charged the hill but the big KTM just started digging in...
4 of us helped him abuse the clutch and man handle the beast up...I said no way and looked for an alternate route....water was not too deep
so I proceeded to cross the river...my boots were full but I was across
so after the joy ended my big rig also found a way to dig in...but good....here is me & Paul (one of the other river crossers) takin' a break...

There are more pictures coming but thats all I got on my phone....the whole police, plane crash and copper chopper was something else to see out there...
I HAD TO GET MY FREE SHIRT DAMMIT

See ya'll at the next one

Trail intel

The intel was correct... that trail is way better than it used to be.

We thought, sure those guys muscled it up the steep and all we had to do was get a little wet...WRONG....deep sand to start ^^see pic above^^ then a serious boulder field of, I guess 100 yards to safety....it was rough...man for an 'easy' ride I'm glad I got the Tee to show for it

The reverse sheeps bridge loop looked like fun! Sadly I work on the weekends or I would have joined you guys. Is anyone up for a ride Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday? I am thinking of doing the the same loop or Montana Mtn. on one of these days.

On the Sheeps Bridge up hill, DK showed you a picture of it, albeit a while back. I never saw a picture of the almost like pavement, smooth claim??

great ride yesterday, i enjoyed meeting new folks and putting faces to names. i learned that my idea of a moderately easy rd is quite a bit different from some others idea.

bloody basin rd from sheeps bridge to 7springs is pretty dang nice, ive seen it rough, that aint rough. i mean passenger cars drive to sheeps bridge,,, what more do ya want?

the uphill to sheeps bridge is pretty rough, i'll give ya that, but those of us who have been around all agree, it used to be intimidation going DOWN, now you can ride down with a beer in one hand.

so, whats the gauge for a rough rd, when the beer in the cupholder sloshes?

Looks like a missed a fun ride. I had work to catch up on around the house and was not able to break away.

Bill, your DR is not very old so I am curious to what happened to the wiring harness.........

2 SPOT is right, the short hill to the bridge used to be a lot worse than it is now.
