Great riding today, took me a while to get home in north phx but was well worth the drive. Thanks to everyone for being patient with this "new again" guy and my little dr200.

Ok, here's what I took with my 8Mp Olympus...sad but my phone is a better camera...
After a solid breakfast at the Village Inn we rally'd at the staging area...

We were at the mercy of Julio for direction as he promised a 'bonus' route...while we are now just coming to terms with
his 'bonus' routes we were commited to follow the leader....

We had some new guys and some regulars but about 1/4 of the way in it was getting warm...time to shed the layers

Paul, um had a small issue and this is what friends are for
He continued to converse in depth on some issue or details of some story I didn't catch because I had to take the pic

Julio's 'bonus' route has fantastic views...

Our first tricky hill looked like this....

Paul had a minor issue but quickly recovered
The views continued to impress

Then we encountered another 'extra bonus' section...seems Julio was looking at his GPS and commited to a peticular hill climb...
Wade & I followed ....soon enough Wade missed a shift and found the big orange pumpkin barreling up at him ....
luck was with me and the trio made it up but the other guys were nowhere to be seen
I spotted Bill below and yelled "Bill up here!" the response was, "up there!, your nuts! I got half way and turned around

To make a log story short-er the rest was Montana Mountain in reverse....the switchbacks were easier, or so I thought....

View from the top...

Here is the scene of the crime for my fender...

Cactus alley to end an awesome day! Thanks to everyone.

Brad,

Julio said it was the hardest trails he has ever seen

Well not really but it definitely tested this old fat guy for sure. It had everything, some sand and some pretty good hills and great people. Montana Mountain is becoming one of my favorite places to ride.

My thanks to you for suggesting it the first time and I hope you can join us next Saturday. Here is a hint it will be south of the Valley.

Take care
Bill

Its not a new GoPro by any means...5Mp Hero...but here is the Montana Mtn switchbacks...going up...
audio is virtually non existant but if you turn up the speakers you'll get a bit...note to self, change
audio to 'high' and then go buy a new Hero

yea, um, sorry about that little section there. It was my first time riding through there so I didn't know what to expect.

That bonus loop is a keeper. But it's better to do it like we did at the front end of the loop rather than at the end of it.

Unfortunately, even after setting up the camera this morning with the phone app ALL of the videos were pointing straight down. I guess the camera must have shifted position in the morning after I adjusted it. Oh well. Need more practice.

Thank you all for letting me lead you through that bonus stuff. Great day.

That was a cool video. I think climbing the switchbacks would be pretty fun. Hopefully I can get with the group this next Saturday.

Sucks about the alignment of the new camera, I was sure by now you would have had plenty of practice........
