We will definately try it together someday soon and you will see it's not as hard as some people say it is.
Brad,

Sounds good and I do want to try it sometime but with a small group so I don't hold too many people up or have someone get in over their head.

I would be interested in cutting into pobrecito to rolls ohv to 4 peaks road and then along FR 68 to the B line and then head back towards bush highway along sycamore.

The ride is really fun. It has a good mix of double track, a nice drop, and a big sand wash to keep things interesting.

Is there any interest in doing the same area with something more tame? I am pretty much open to anything if someone has a ride they have been wanting to do.

If any one does end up taking the back way to Crown King or a ride in that general area I would love to tag along for it. I live near Happy Valley and Lake Pleasant. I don't have a truck or trailer and would just ride to the staging area to meet up.

Brad is right, I did it last year coming down from CK there is basically 2 spots still little rough. This is one of them:

This is how it looks looking down...

The rest is cake.

Last time I did this ride. I was going up the mountain at this point and I was able to drive around the rock to the right and it was much easier.

From the perspective of the person taking the photo below, go around the rock on the left side of the photo.

About a year ago a bunch of us fools were going to do this ride on pit bikes. That's how easy it is now compared to what it was.

There are 2 or 3 tricky spots to deal with. The rest is cake. I think you guys should go for it.

What's the worse that can happen?

I'm STILL trying to get that thing restored... Just got 4 new wheel bearings for it a couple of weeks ago. Just need to pack 'em and put 'em back in.

Yeh, that step right there looks like a real booger but if you just commit and power through it, it's not that bad.

I gave up. Half of the parts are on my son's 50 and the other half are scattered among mine and my buddy's garage. There will be no MFAF Rally for me.

Fantastic, sorry for the delayed response... been slammed trying to get ready for the move.

The Ural is a special bike to own. You can haul anything just about anywhere, just not very quickly. Fire roads are great for the Ural.the kids would love it. Also a great bike for those that like to camp due to the amount of stuff you can haul.

Maintenance seems to be something this bike likes to have a lot off. People that like to tinker with an old school design will be in heaven. If you don't like to tinker then be sure you have a good relationship with a mechanic and roadside assistance :-)

Ride Saturday

Lets do this we meet at the original time and depending on who shows and what riding levels we have we can decide weather to attempt the Crown King side or opt for the easier plan B. Either way I will be happy just to get out and do some riding.

Help me find some fuel line plz!
I'm trying to source some clear fuel line.
Hardware stores only have clear vinyl, not sure if it is okay for gas.
Napa, BAP, pep boys, cycle gear...nada.

One place I found it, a landscape power tool dealer wants $3 a foot!

Anyone...
Thx
Jeff

$2 a foot, 0.25" diameter. But you'll pay shipping.
