Cyberdos,

Great video! Looks like a fun road. I need to get further east than the I-17 one of these days...

That might be doable.

Come along. It's worth the trip.

Just brainstorming

I'm thinking of course a re-do ride with a cyberdos twist.

I'm thinking that if there are riders coming in from the West that we could meet at 4 Peaks Road and then do 4 peaks and over these trails to Young?

Lunch at Antlers.

Then back down Cherry Creek/Apache Trail?

For the record, I haven't traveled through those trails in the first half after 4 peaks so I have no idea if they are hard or easy. So there may or may not be challenges to finishing this ride.

these trails looks very interesting but this section (after I examined it closely) look ferocious , intimidating somewhat here:
https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=U...1,0&sz=16&z=12

I am still up for it if u decided that route(as we say in French "on pousse et on Fonce" ), but definitely it will suck up our minutes out of the day.

Hmm. I see what you're talking about. I think maybe there's another option though. From Punkin Center, continue on NF-71 and NF-471. Then if you look at the satellite view it continues and hooks back up to NF-486 which is on the original route. that doesn't look as gnarly although it says that 471 ends and doesn't connect. Maybe we can get someone who has done this to confirm?

We can try that option too, i'll pin point my GPS to where the road end to continue from there. I saw the trail that connect to NF-486:

You like rocks?

I've done several of those roads back there. Most are very rocky, but doable on a 650. They are rough enough that I doubt you'd be able to finish those and Cherry Creek in the same day. SeaBee1 and I have been back there a few times.

Not sure of the number, but one goes up to Buzzards Roost Ranch, and there is a locked gate. Maps and such make it look like it goes through. I'll see if I can find the ones I'm talking about and let you know.

If you go up Cherry Creek again, you gotta do the 54 cut across. That is the best part!

In the meantime, anybody riding this coming sunday? East valley preferably, I need to be home by about 3pm or so.

It's always comforting when that leads to a place called Asbestos Tank!

I'm booked this weekend. I'm helping some Italian travelers set up a bike for South America.

Eddy, are you looking at where the road takes off up the creekbed for a while? The road labeling appears to follow the creek bed (in several places) instead of the actual road. If you search a little bit, you can follow the actual road and it does not look nearly as "ferocious" as the creek bottom.

Does anyone here know anybody selling a DR650, KLR650 or XR650L that is rtw ready? I have a couple in my home right now from Italy and they want to take off on their trip around North and South America and haven't been able to find a bike yet. Please contact me if you know of anything. They are getting kind of desperate. Thanks.
