My dad gave me an old milk crate full of motorcycle parts several weeks ago. I thought about strapping it to the top of my rear case and taking a picture just so I could be part of the milk crate club. Might still...

Thanks Paul. I'd really like to get a new bike, but it's not in the cards right now given the financial situation. It doesn't help that robin just left for central america on his wr250r this morning though. Eventually I would like to get a Triumph Tiger 800xc I think. I really like riding in the dirt, but, if I'm being honest, the majority of my riding is slab these days. Probably because I really like to take the wife along and being two up really kills your ability to do much in the dirt. In a perfect world I would have two bikes. One dirt oriented and one more slab oriented that can do a few logging roads like the Tiger. By the time I can buy a new bike comes around though, it's likely I'll be drooling over something completely different. We'll see.

Given that your oddometer now reads "666" after that comment, I would probably update your will. I hope you knocked on wood!

^^+1.

I saw a guy commuting on a Honda Ruckus a few days ago in Scottsdale. He was buzzing along at 45 mph on Frank Lloyd Wright.

Mini bikes fit into any budget. Just make sure you get a orange flag, so cars can see you.

thanks for the update on Montana MT. Was going to pre-run it in my truck since i haven't driven it in about 6 years, now I don't have to! Maybe I'll give it a go this weekend. It's always been a lovely road and I need practice on dirt.

I just hit 13,000 on my DR Last week. I wonder if it will break the triple digits before I do something stupid.

Take a ton of water. That whole ride is exposed with no shade. It is one of my favorite rides here in AZ.

Kid Day/Mini Bike Races/BBQ in East Mesa

I know some of you have kids that ride, or own mini bikes to tool around on.

I have a really fun desert pit near my house that is a blast to cruise around on with mini bikes.

My plan would be to get the kids/adults out for a ride for an hour or two and then BBQ at my place afterwards.

I own a KLX110L, DRZ110, and JR50. The DRZ and JR are a ton of fun for beginners, so if anyone wanted to introduce their kids to riding I am happy to let you teach your kids.

Post up if you are interested. The temps are getting hot, so we usually ride from 6pm-8pm.
