Ok, true. Serious difference now on the Tenere. But we digress...

You were the guy on the KTM that made it that day. I think you've gone up there a couple times.

What's it really like going up Harquahala.

How would you rate Harquahala for a big adv bike;
1. Friendly
2. Doable
3. A Challenge
4. Just dumb

It's friendly until the very top where it becomes doable.

Still worth going up there even if you don't go all the way.

I am going on a road ride up to Wickenburg this Saturday. I plan to head through fountain hills up McDowell mountain Road or Mustang way. Then I am going to go through cave creek until I join up with the carefree highway.

Has anyone ridden south on S Vulture Mine Road? I may take that on the way home.

Hey Aaron, last time I rode that was about a couple of years ago with my friend in his Harley.

It's all paved with a bit of sand blown in by the wind in some spots.

I am swapping back to the Shinko 705's for this ride. Then I will put my knobbies back on. Should be 320 miles total when we are done.

Congrats on the new ride. Looks a little slimmer than the 990.

Thank You!

Hey Tom, Thanks a bunch for getting us together and organizing a GREAT ride I had a blast! Wonderful scenery, good friends, loads of studly riding and....... not a single dirt nap. Surely someday we will pull of the entire trip.

"Doable"

The new "big bike friendly".

CAP runs 4wd work trucks up Harq mountain routinely to service their comm equipment so it shouldn't be too horrible.

I went up that mountain 2-up on my 950 Adventure. It wasn't so bad. I cooked my rear brake on the way down, though.
