It wasn't too muddy, there were a couple of puddles but the edge of the trail around them was dry. All I got was a (terribly uninteresting) before picture, but KC got a way after picture. I should have taken a picture of that dumb hill.

OK, this was damned hard. Getting up to the Roger's Trough trailhead wasn't bad, but headed up from there was damned near impossible.

I might have been able to pull it off if I had some little 250cc set up with fat knobbies and a granny gear first, but my 600 is wearing hybridized tires and geared more towards highway speed.

To get where we got pwned, head up Hewitt Canyon Road to the Y-intersection located just south of the Roger's Trough trailhead. The intersection is at 33*25'02.29" N by 111*10'26.46" W. Head south from there. We were encouraged to turn back at the rocky climb at 33*24;53.55" N by 111*10'19.15" W.

I don't know how Steezeman puts his pants on each morning over the big brass bawlz he's got. He rode his weestrom up there, and back down the rocky point that threw me off my XR. Effing amazing, watching him come down that thing.

You guys that showed up at McD's on Southern and Greenfield, you missed Steezeman and I by practically a matter of seconds. We left there and headed to the QT and Walmart just south of there to gas up, and since McD's was closed for remodeling I grabbed some quick breakfast at the one in the Walmart instead. Sorry, I won't use that one for a rendezvous any more. Didn't know it was closed until I pulled in there at 6:30.

Like I said KC, it just wasn't meant to be. No worries it will happen another time. Glad you had fun. See you on the next one, Paul

I think im going to go explore Hewitt Canyon road today. After I get done with the 600 miles service. Are there any water crossings this time of the year?

You should try doing that loop from the other direction. That looks like Montana Mt loop you were on. If you enter from Superior it is easier as the climbs are not as steep going up the other side and all you have to do is control your speed down were you tried to go up. enter here: 33.284889,-111.125808 (Silver King Mine Rd)

Nope. A couple of sandy washes that will flood if there's a LOT of rain, but nothing we saw on Saturday. Just a couple of lonely puddles.

Thanks! This one knocked my confidence quite a bit, so I need to re-tackle it at some point. I'll try when it's cooler.

Address I believe has been established. Seabee's shop.

306 South River, Tempe.

Whatever time is best for everyone to be there as long as it's not fanatic291 ride type time.

Crap! I think I remember something about that now.

Well if it's in the morning, I don't think I'll bring beers. Thanks for hosting Seabee

Will you lead a ride from east-to-west some time in the next few weeks?
